What is Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation and how does it work?
Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation treatments with the Syneron Galaxy Laser use intense pulsed light and radio frequency to safely enhance the appearance of the skin. Controlled pulses of light and radio frequency penetrate the skin and are absorbed by brown spots, blood vessels, and redness, causing these unwanted marks to gradually fade after each treatment. The energies also stimulate collagen and elastin production, creating a smoother and softer appearance. What does it treat?
Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation with the Galaxy Laser is an effective treatment for:
- Rosacea, broken capillaries, ruddiness
- Age spots, sun spots, and freckles
- Signs of aging
- Birthmarks and lesions
- Renewing health and vitality in the skin
What is the usual course of treatment?
The Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation procedure is a series of 5 full-face treatments, usually 3 to 4 weeks apart. The face is covered with a thin layer of cooling gel and then the Galaxy Laser head is passed over the skin. Each treatment takes 15 to 30 minutes.
A microdermabrasion or chemical peel performed between Fotofacial treatments enhances the effects. After the initial series of treatments, additional Fotofacial sessions are recommended once every 3 to 4 months to maintain results.
What kind of results will I see?
You will notice your skin feeling smoother immediately following treatment. Dark spots and broken capillaries may be more noticeable for the first week but then will begin to fade, often completely. Your skin color will begin to look more even after a week and any fine lines or wrinkles will begin to smooth with each treatment. The overall result of Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation treatments is smoother, clearer, healthier, more youthful skin.
How does Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation feel?
Fotofacial Skin Rejuvenation treatments have a tolerable level of discomfort which is reduced or eliminated by the use of a topical antiseptic cream applied to the skin 30 minutes prior to the Fotofacial.
After each treatment, patients can return to normal activities. The skin will be slightly pink when you leave, which is easily covered with makeup. The pinkness will resolve over several hours. There is a small risk of developing a scab or a bruise from the treatment, but this should resolve over 7-10 days.
